Operating from headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, KCP&L provides electric power to more than 800,000 customers in 47 northwestern Missouri and eastern Kansas counties - a service territory of approximately 18,000 square miles. To meet customers’ future energy needs, KCP&L has developed a comprehensive energy plan that includes customer efficiency, affordability and demand response programs; wind generation; construction of an additional 850 megawatts of clean coal generation; infrastructure improvements; and environmental investments. The mission of the KCP&L economic development team is to facilitate the recruitment, expansion and retention of business and industry for increased company profit and sustained economic growth of the communities that we serve. We’re playing a leadership role in supporting efforts to revitalize and increase the development capacity of our communities and increase property values through our Local Partners Program.
