Why do you believe in the Wyandotte Economic Development Council?
This organization was established between the 3 mayors (Kansas City, Kansas, Bonner Springs and Edwardsville 1988-1989 along with BPU. A committee was formed of interested parties from this group to determine goals that would push economic development in a consolidated effort. I was one of the founding members of this committee and have served it faithfully ever since its inception.
My philosophy regarding economic development has not changed over the years. It is vital to the well being and growth of our communities.
Why did you want to serve on the Board of Directors for WYEDC?
I have been a fervent champion for economic development in this community since the committee was organized. Consolidated efforts are beneficial to the welfare of all citizens of our collective communities.
Why should Wyandotte Countians care about economic development?
Economic development enhances the quality of life for all the citizens in the area, brings in revenue, jobs and increased business development.
