Why do you believe in the Wyandotte Economic Development Council?
The Wyandotte EDC is a group of dedicated community and business professionals along with public officials that strive for ways to enrich the lives of all Wyandotte County citizens. It takes hard work and a strong team to plan, act and achieve success. The Wyandotte EDC harnesses all of this together in one organization for a common goal for both the short and long-term vision.
Why did you want to serve on the Board of Directors for WYEDC?
Being a part of an organization that can impact the lives of those in all the communities, county and entire region is important. I want to help promote Wyandotte County for success in education, workforce, job creation and community assets that everyone can enjoy and be proud of every day. Leading our communities to a better tomorrow through any efforts I can volunteer to assist is something I strive to do by being involved as a member of the Board of Directors for WYEDC.
Why should Wyandotte Countians care about economic development?
Economic Development is a critical driver for the lifeblood of all communities. We need quality education options for learning, we need good paying jobs for citizens to work, affordable housing for everyone to live and businesses benefiting from being successful to allow public entities to have funds to provide quality of life benefits we want to enjoy. One does not succeed without the other in the circle of economic life. A growing and caring community is one that thrives with all these things, for those living in the community today and others that will come after us in the future. Banding together for a successful economy is important for short term impacts and helps us continue to plan and prepare for a long-term vision of community enrichment.
