The Wyandotte Economic Development Council is a membership organization led by a 17-member Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of both public and private members, including the Mayors of Kansas City, Bonner Springs and Edwardsville, a Wyandotte County Commissioner and a representative from the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities. The Board also includes members from private utilities, construction, legal, retail, education, engineering, architecture, real estate and private business interest.
Greg has over 20 years of experience in community and economic development, primarily in the Kansas City market.
Greg has served as the President of the Wyandotte Economic Development Council since 2011 and administers programs focused on business recruitment, business retention, marketing and workforce solutions. Greg and the WYEDC team identify ways in which to attract the right businesses for specific locations, retain the companies already located in the county, grow businesses through a variety of traditional and new approaches to economic development and identify strategies for long-term community growth, with the focus of establishing long-term relationships.
His unique background in economic development is beneficial to assisting Wyandotte County’s continued successful economic transformation that has resulted in more than $2 billion in announced investments in the last three years.
Marcia Harrington, Sr. Director of Retention & Workforce Solutions
Marcia has over 15 years of economic development experience in Wyandotte County. After a 31-year tenure with the City of Bonner Springs, Kansas, she joined WYEDC in July 2016. Her background includes community and economic development experience with attraction, business retention and expansion, downtown revitalization, housing, incentives, development review, marketing and tourism.
Marcia gained IEDC certification in Economic Development in 2010 and brings a well-rounded wealth of experience to WYEDC.
Marcia and her husband, Jeff, live in Bonner Springs and have five children and seven grand-children.
Jonnathan Salazar, Business Retention & Expansion Coordinator
Jonn is a Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator who actively conducts meetings with company leaders to proactively identify and solve any challenges their company may have.
Jonn is an experienced Business Development professional with the ability to gain and maintain genuine relationships. His background includes Sales, Project Management, and Business Development. Achieved success previously leading a division at Arbor Masters Tree and Landscape by increasing revenues 300% in 2 years. His unique background is valuable to assisting WYEDC.
Jonn graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Business Management degree. After graduating in 2012, he moved to the Kansas City Area. Jonn enjoys playing indoor soccer and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
Cari Lynn, Investor Relations Coordinator & Executive Assistant
Cari Lynn serves as the Investor Relations Coordinator and Executive Assistant for the Wyandotte Economic Development Council and has held this position since September 2013.
Cari has over 10 years of experience in marketing having previously served as the Marketing Director for The R.H. Johnson Company in Kansas City, Missouri. Cari’s role at WYEDC includes marketing, website and social media management, event planning, scheduling and office management.
Cari is an “Original Dotte”, raised in Bonner Springs, and currently resides in Kansas City, Kansas.
