Wyandotte County is home to two premiere educational institutions that are active in educating the area’s workforce. Both offer programs that set up students from all backgrounds for immediate career success by joining the workforce with their associate degrees, as well as providing excellent transferability to pursue higher education.
Kansas City Kansas Community College
KCKCC is a public two-year institution offering certificate and associate degrees. It’s Division of Career and Technical Education meets the changing educational and technological workforce development needs of the community through associate degrees and certificates in a wide range of programs, including engineering, welding, computer information systems, cybersecurity and more.
Donnelly College is a Catholic College located in Kansas City, Kansas. It offers a number of bachelors and associate degree programs, along with an excellent nursing program. Its Success First Program provides students unable to test into college-level classes the opportunity to gain the strong English language and reading and writing skills they need to be successful in college classes. In 2021, Donnelly College was ranked the #1 Most Diverse College in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report for the fourth year in a row.
