WYEDC’s site visits and conversations have led to numerous new pilot programs and initiatives including the Workforce Solutions Program, HR Roundtables, a Workforce Consortium, a Preventive Maintenance workforce training and attraction, and the creation of the first Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education program in Kansas.
Specifically in 2020, these efforts have resulted in:
- 15 Expansion/Retention Announcements
- 575,697 total square feet
- $236 million in economic development investments
- 188 net, new jobs
- $5.3 million in added or retained jobs (The county median wage of $19.86 was used to compute the payroll impact, which is used by the KS Dept of Commerce for certain incentives.)
